How early is too early to use the snowblower?

We're supposed to meet my parents for breakfast at some point this morning, but I have to clear the road in front of my driveway so we can get out. What would be an appropriate time on a Saturday morning to start such an activity?

1. I would break it out at 8 if you have to go somewhere, 9 if

it is just for clearing.

As for me, I am waiting for my WONDERFUL neighbor who comes over to do mine. I always buy him a 12-pack of good beer when he does.

We have a neighbor who does that, too. He has a big plowtruck. My husband snowblows another neighbor's sidewalk.

4. 8 am is certainly reasonable; however,

there may be times when you break out the monster as soon as it's light - like today. Freezing rain is starting here and snowblowers can't handle crusted heavy wet snow, so we were out shifting the stuff at daybreak.

my general rule is noise only between 10 am and 10 pm. I also apply that to most phone calls.
