It’s amazing what happens to some people when they get behind the wheel. Check out this story just in from Bedford about a Clinton man’s alleged escapade at a McDonald’s drive-through in that town.
We’ve all sat behind drivers that do stupid things, but if what police said this guy did is true, he went too far. A man in the drive-through line with his 3-year-old daughter in the truck allegedly jumped out and ran inside to correct an order. That’s when Clintonian Glenn Merrill decided to jump in the man’s truck and move it. Granted, leaving your 3-year-old in a running vehicle in the drive-through line isn’t exactly model parenting — it’s actually really dumb. Was it really that important that his McWatchamacallit has cheese on it?
But then Merrill decided to leave his vehicle and move the man’s truck. He had to have known that wasn’t going to end well. Following an argument, Merrill allegedly followed the man and ran him and his daughter off the road and into a utility pole. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
Lesson number one in driving: When someone in front of you does something stupid, take a deep breath and for the love of God, stay in your car!
