Are peanut shells bad for you?
I ask because I know someone that eats peanuts shells and all. I just tried it and it's something I coulid get used to. Right now I but salted shelled nuts and suck the salt off the shell and then crack with my teeth, pull it, then seperate the shell with my fingers and eat the nut.

1. Fiber.
Maybe a teeny tiny miniscule chance of causing an impaction but suspect not much. The only other thing I could thing of would be scratching the lining of esophagus or stomach? Chew well and get it good an soggy.

Oh and...EWWWW.

2. I often or at least I used to eat them
at the ball park when I ate my bag of roasted peanuts. I don't know if they're particularly bad for you, I imagine the extra fiber might help contact the fats in the peanuts

4. I like shelled nuts, I just don't like the mess involved
I'm using a old empty pretzel bag to discard my "dead soldiers".

3. The only thing I could think wouldn't be good is the salt in 'em
If they've been salted, most of the salt is - at least, I should think so - in the shell, so you could end up eating a lot of extra salt.

That said, I love the shells, and always eat quite a few when I'm eating peanuts in the shell.

5. Eating them is not as bad for you as
tossing the shells on the floor them slipping on them and breaking a leg or twisting an ankle or anything else that might cause a premature end to your night of drinking.
