AARRGGHH! Black fly bites! All over my legs and arms!

Camped last week in the Saline Valley, up near the mouth of McElvoy canyon where the stream supported a nasty local population of blackflies.

I am itching so badly I want to peel my skin off! There are hundreds of bites on my arms and legs-- most from one night early in the week before I started putting the 100 percent DEET on twice a day. I'm scratching myself bloody. This is truly awful!
