Eleanor Roosevelt on being "up against a wall."
I once had a rose named after me and I was very flattered. But I was not pleased to read the description in the catalogue: no good in a bed, but fine up against a wall.

3. Mrs. Roosevelt was one of the finest Americans of the 20th century.
What marked her as great was that few things were beneath her.

She had a marvelous wit.
