Edited on Sun Mar-18-07 10:20 PM by lizziegrace
go to www.moveon.org and find one in your area. Get out and make your opinion known. Please.

If you need some inspiration, visit Ava's website www.peacetakescourage.com and view the videos she has posted. The most recent, "Our Choice" is terrific.

1. Hey, lizziegrace!
I'm going to be at the vigil in Denver. Candles surrounding the capitol building, 7 p.m.

I hope you have good weather for yours. I'll keep you in mind the whole night.

2. Thank you
I emailed my parents and asked that they put their feelings and words into action and venture out for this. My father got a new digital camera and I pushed the photo ops to see if I can get them out of the house.

:patriot:

I'll keep you in mind too. It'll be cold, but it's a small price to pay.

3. I just got off the phone with two friends.
I invited them both to the vigil tomorrow -- neither were planning on it, but both are of the same mind against the war.

One year into the war, it seemed like we were a minority in this country.
Two years into the war, it seemed like we were probably the majority in the country.
Three years into the war, it was clear we were the majority in the country.

Now, four years into the war, we're unquestionably the national and international majority, and we still have to fight to get numbers to the vigils that faithfully represent how many of us feel this way.

The camera angle is a great way to encourage your dad out the door. Some of the coolest pictures I've seen lately came from a friend who shot last fall's vigil in Evanston. Beautiful to see candles and signs on the sidewalks and feet in the street.

Stay warm. I wish you were assured of the good weather we're having here.

4. Two of my photos from the remembrance vigil are on the Moveon site
I'll find the photos and send them to you.

It was humbling that night when the official count was 2001 and a man showed up with tears in his eyes. He's lost his son in Iraq the previous August. He was so raw with emotion. I can't believe that 1200 MORE have died since.

I was having trouble that night with my hands shaking. The flash made everything too bright. These two I submitted to Moveon and they are still in the archives.

7. Those two kids are adorable.
Brings tears to my eyes to think that kids should have to know what any of this is about.

8. Their parents were teaching them well

And you're right, I thought after Vietnam that our country would never know war again. :(

6. I don't want to preach
and I know this is the lounge, but consider getting out and supporting the majority tomorrow.

Night y'all!
