So Did Anybody Else's Monday Just Bite The Big One?

mine did from the start...

my co-worker called in doubling my workload...
I was called to do something else at the start of the shift so that I missed out on what was going on that I needed to know...
No one seemed to be in synch on anything today...
The sun is gone and it's supposed to rain all week...
I have to deal with assholes anyhow and they were in rare form today...

things to be grateful for... I have a job, I got up, I made it to work, no one was killed...

how's your frickin' Monday? I call this post St Paddy's day triple Monday clusterfuck!

:hi:

65. Plasticware doesn't break....
and that is the FUN

get some old light bulbs, or hell steal some from your neighbors lights :silly:

light bulbs kind of explode when they hit the pavement.

I remember discussing meditation with this psychiatrist long long ago, and she said that she thought that going and breaking dishes was a quicker means to the same end.

I tried the lightbulb thing at a spillway on a dam, really was quite effective

I was pretty mad at the time, oh I just remembered why tooo  no, i'm not mad about that anymore

67. You're serious.
I'm pretty sure I can find something to break. When the shrub was re-selected I had a mourning party and at the time was flush enough to buy a set of all-black dinnerware just for the occasion. Some of that can go. After STBE goes to bed of course, because he already thinks I've lost it.

A fine suggestion, pawpicker.

4. So far mine is sucking out loud....
I was reprimanded by the business manager for not working in my suit for the show that just ended ( I have had a LARGE cast on my foot because of a broken ankle, and getting to the laundromat hasn't been exactly easy as of late ). Also, my boss has been up my ass like a Fleet enema this past week...for what I don't know.
I'll be going for a couple of drinks in one hour; that will cheer me up. Hope you're doing better yourself.

5. Well, I have to admit I'm having a really good day
I registered for classes first thing this morning and got in all but one that I wanted (I'm on the waiting list for that one).

I don't go back to work until the first of April and I'm very grateful for that. I don't mind my job but I'd much rather not be there.

Weather's not bad here and it's supposed to start raining tonight which is actually good news - we really need it.

I'll try to send some of my happy vibes your way - maybe your day will improve. :hi:

We are all connected in someway or another in this Universe. I may feel insignificant 90% of the time, but I effect other people's lives without even realizing it. As does everyone...

24. Started to work, discovering a flat tire.
On my bike. Merde, I hate flats in the morning. Afterwards, down the street I realized that I neglected to reconnect the brakes. Further on, it dawned that I put the wheel back on backwards. I was wondering why I had trouble cinching it. After work, I was repairing the puncture discovering that it wasn't a puncture, nor a pinch. The rubber just broke apart. A patch would be a waste. Since I had the patch kit out, there was a punctured tube that I'd been procrastinating over for months. That too had broken apart. I guess some CEO skimped on quality for another yacht.

And thing is, yesterday, I was thinking I hadn't had a flat in a long, long time. I shouldn't have thought that.

165. A couple tips
I pedal year around and carry loads, so I have a touring bike (Waterford frame) built custom. Otherwise, I'll spend lots of time and more money replacing parts and hanging around bike shops. Most off-the-rack bikes are built to last a year or two. But if you're just starting out, you don't want to spend a fortune. Get something off-the-rack. As you ride, you can replace worn components with better quality ones. Your own person comfort should be the main factor. If the bike is too small and you ride with legs splayed, your knees will eventually scream. There's a lot of consumerism with bike gear, so be pragmatic. Don't let the sales-bots talk you into crap you don't need.

I haven't shopped for a while, but I think Bianchi was a good brand. You could also try a used bike.

**On Monday mornings, I don't want to think until after work in the evening.

150. Refreezing....
usually I'm very careful, but I thought the driveway was clear and I was turning to make silly babytalk to my silly dog... :+ It turns out that my son actually didn't see me fall and was concerned when he found out. (He's a nice boy.)

'Sounds like you had the wind knocked out of you with your fall. Were you cursing your dog for not having opposable thumbs so he could come out and help you up?

My best, "I've fallen and can't get up" story is the time I was trimming a very large, old tree in my backyard. The branch I was cutting was about eight feet long and about seven inches in diameter. Unfortunately, the branch didn't break completely loose from the tree, swung down and, WHAM!, hit me right in the lower back. I made myself horizontal while I assessed the situation. Eventually, got up and took the unusual step of visiting urgent care to make sure I didn't rupture something. Luckily, I very bruised and sore, but OK. Now, when I find myself studying a tree, thinking about trimming...I'm considerably more realistic about what I want to tackle.

well it's good that you only imagined the reaction of your son...

I think I was too shocked to react to what my dog was doing other than to watch in disbelief as I saw my life flash before my eyes (okay overly dramatic)

The tree trimming story is pretty scary really, glad you're okay :D

Once, a long time ago, I swear I *fell* off a wave trying to body surf in Hawaii. I was at the top of it and I know I went over the top and into the sand in front of the wave and then it went over the top of me and I felt every single vertebrae *pop* and I wondered if I would be able to walk again... another overly dramatic moment, I got right up but was very cautious about doing something I knew nothing about doing again.

42. St Joseph's day meant a day off for me
....at least from school. I should have spent all day at the library where I'm painting this mural. I procrastinated myself all the way to 3:00. I went and painted for two hours and then went to a paranormal/psychic thingy called 'dinner and spirits' with some friends. There were four psychics that did group readings in the John Edward style. It was fascinating, but I am a bit skeptical.

I hate that I am a procrastinator. I should have been way more productive.

I hope you have a better day tomorrow, Southpaw.

It relates to my GRRRRRRRRRRR thread of a few days ago. It was obvious that day - VERY obvious - that I was angry, but holding it in.

Now I'm told that my reaction is the problem, not the offending behaviour of the asshat. :grr:

My ex called me a "force of nature" when I get angry or determined. Believe me, if the offending party was here, they would feel like they'd been hit by Katrina. (I am not a violent person, so I don't mean physically)

other people backing asshat (well, and asshat himself). I'm making them painfully aware of asshat's behaviour, and they don't like it - they'd rather not deal with it. Or silently, on their own.

I always seem to be the one to make people deal with these things. I don't know that I do it consciously...but I often end up in that position.

It's hard to define myself...sometimes I am calm, sometimes not (but in that instance, I often get called effervescent, or sparkly...their words, not mine). It depends on the people I'm with...I really pick up on the energy around me, or what's needed.
