Why are people so disgusting?

The water in the building was shut off on Friday, so they could do some work on the pipes. It was off all over campus but it was Spring Break so no biggie except our building is full of state agencies who still have to work (don't get me started on this arrangement, that's another thread). So they provided a couple of port-o-cans for everyone's convenience. We also have a convenience store about 2 minutes away. But people used the restrooms ANYWAY and by today they were just disgusting (with no janitorial service over the weekend). Use your imagination. EWWWW! I don't understand why though. Are they (and I can only talk about the women's restrooms- the men's may or may not have been as bad) such delicate flowers that they cannot use an outhouse for one day? Or drive to the convenience store?

when it comes to disgusting habits. It's like some women are too grossed out to clean up after themselves or something.

8. Having had to clean the women's restroom at work...

I can vouch for women being much worse.

I've never had to break out the bio-shock spray, the safety gloves, and the hazmat baggie for the men's room. Women's room...semi-weekly or monthly. Given that several of those were used maxi-pads and tampons on the floor, a distinctly female (thus women's room) issue. But there is only one rest room I've ever had to clean poop off the ceiling of.

Men leave graffito on the walls, women leave much worse.

3. Some people can't deal with visible # 2

I noticed this when I used to hike in New England in areas with old pit toilets. Even in areas with the new well ventilated pit toilets some people would do their business outside.
It's a weird disconnection to bodily functions IMHO.

5. I have issues with public toilets in general

But, unless they are really bad, outhouses or pit toilets don't generally bother me. I am not crazy about them necessarily but if I am camping or whatever I will deal. Much better than having to pack it back out with you.

It's a miracle I get through the day. Thank god they keep the ones in the building where I work pretty much impeccable.
