What are these?
My son has one of those bags of plastic dinosaurs, and part of his daily routine is to ask me what each one is. Most are simple and familiar to anyone who's seen Jurassic Park. Additionally, I was quite the dino-geek in my youth (before dinosaurs were officially "cool" in the zeitgeist), so I know a good number of obscure ones in addition to The Big Three.

But these two megafauna mammals escaped me. The first, I believe, is a brontotherium, but I wasn't sure:

And this one, I have no idea:

A little help, please? How long can you allow my son to suffer for his father's ignorance?

I can hardly wait to inform my three-year-old.

Thanks!

6. Thanks! That's pretty close, but the toy has more of a snout
Of course, I don't like to take my paleozoology cues from a $0.99 bag of plastic animals, so I'm not certain that the anatomy is correct. The relative scale between the various animals definitely isn't!

Thanks for the suggestion, though. I'll read more about this Indricotherium!

7. #2's snout looks like a Litoptern snout

The closest I can find to #1 is Brontotherium-

My son got this book when he was about 6, and still likes it at 12.

8. Holy moley, I think that's it!
I was pretty comfy with my Brontotherium guess, but I had no clue on the Litopterna.

Thanks!

9. I don't think it's the dinosaurs making you cry.
Unless things have improved an awful lot since yesterday. How are you doing? :hi:
