Update on my Brother.

Hey.

First of all, words can't express my profound gratitude for all your support, kindness and good energy directed toward my family and friends since Saturday night. For the record, shortly after I posted my thread seeking Lounge Vibes (this one: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=105&topic_id=6316594 ) and just as soon as Lounge energy started rolling in, my brother had the most peaceful night's sleep he's had since he arrived in ICU more than two weeks ago. All of his nurses commented on it. Coincidence? I think not. So thank you for the peace you gave to a very sick and restless boy.

A special thanks to my dear flvegan, who has been sitting with me at my brother's bedside, holding my hand and talking me through my worries in the wee hours of the morning these past few nights (figuratively, via telephone). How fortunate I am to have those wonderful, broad, compassionate shoulders to lean on. He is a one-in-a-million sweetheart of a guy. Thank you for for being strong enough to face the worst of it with me. I love you, man.


Re: My brother's condition:

This morning the doctor said that overall my brother's condition was "slightly" improved. So according to Mom's plan he will be transferred to a nursing facility via ambulance tomorrow morning.

The question remains, however: Is that is the best possible outcome? Or the worst? Or somewhere in between?

I wish I knew.

Anyway... we will continue to monitor his condition and make decisions day by day. So. Again, thank all of you for your kindness and support. You guys are the best, the absolute best.

I've been off for about 3 weeks so didn't see this. My best to your brother and to you. I spent all last summer at the hospital with my son. I hope and pray the best for your brother.
