What do you give your man on your 10th anniversary?
My honey and I are celebrating 10 years since we met and fell in love. I'll spare you the mushy details but it all happened on one day. So we have a bonus anniversary in addition to the wedding.

So we are going away this weekend to celebrate. I want to give him something special but I just can't think of what. I have a budget of $300 max but I was thinking of something elegant, something nice. Not a retro football jersey or DVDs that I would get him for Christmas etc. Something that I can get before I leave on Saturday.

As a mushy fallback I was thinking of printing out our early love emails (we met online) with pictures but I think that would be more of a chick thing.

I dunno, help me out people please. I really, really love this man but I am drawing such a blank that I don't want to blow the opportunity of the occasion.

But, ya know when you get a chance. I don't want to be a bother. :hi:

2. He loves sports and computers and hip hop
He's very scientific. I can think of some stuff based on him but I was hoping to come up with a Classic gift. Something like a gold money clip or a nice watch (except he hates watches and doesn't wear what he has). I dunno. I guess if I can't think of something than no one else will.

I'm going to red envelope and stuff like that and maybe I'll see something. I want something that will make him feel special and loved and that he can hold and look at and think of how much I love him. Like a silver plated engraved hug.

I feel silly now for involving DU. You never know what kind of idea you can get around here though.

3. would he use a pocket watch?
You don't have to wear it, and it is certainly a classic. You should be able to get something for that price and have it engraved.

4. That is a definite maybe
Of course I don't know if I have enough time to get anything engraved. I suck. He doesn't get caught up in this stuff so I know that no matter what I give him he'll be happy. But I wish I can hit one out of the park. I wish I didn't procrastinate. I don't know why this snuck up on me. Thanks for helping. :hi:

6. This:

Surprise pregnancy! I wrapped up the EPT tester and said "Your gift is very expensive, hasn't arrived yet, and you are going to LOVE IT!" All true.

12. Well it would definitely not be a romantic conversation for us
I'd be frantically googling statistics on freak natural vasectomy reversals, while he'd be asking me , "What's his name?" Not quite the mood I'm going for here. LOL!

Perhaps I can gift wrap a negative test? That would be kind of funny.

7. Does he have an iPod yet?
Edited on Tue Mar-20-07 10:16 AM by SteppingRazor
You can get a Mini for well under $300, then fill it with his favorite hip-hop tunes, and have it engraved.

On edit: I say this because my fiancee did it for me, and I loved it. My mini says on the back "I'll love you forever, now shake it for me!" Silly, cheesy, but still really cool. :)

10. Ya know
I thought about this before but forgot about it. He has an mp3 player but I bet he would loooove one of those teeny ones that clip to your shirt that he can wear while mowing the lawn etc. I wonder if I have time to find one and get it engraved. I may even steal your inscription and I'm not kidding! I think If I try I can still do this. This is the contender right now. Thanks!

11. Steal away!
I'm sure my better half would be honored. I forget what she said exactly, but I believe she had to wait a couple days for the engraving. So, if you're gonna do it, now's the time!

13. I'm almost there
Does the ipod play any MP3? downloaded from peer to peer back in the day, ripped from CDs? Or is it only itunes and purchased stuff cause that limits what he can hear and the majority of our mp3s.

So close to getting him a "Shuffle" but worried about limitations.
