Another 'guitar player' question......
Since my latest amp has decided that it would prefer not working ever again, I was thinking of getting one of these:

http://www.guitarport.com/

Essentially it allows you to play through your computer and mimic classic amp sounds complete with effects.

Anyone familiar with it or have any opinion on it either way?

...on a Fender Blues Deville with 4 10"s. Sweetest sounding amp I've ever had. They finally figured out that since people are paying huge amounts of money for the amps they made 40 years ago, maybe they should try making amps like they made 40 years ago. The Marshall was nice, but it was a pain to cart around and this thing is just too sweeeeeeeeet.

Dunno about guitarport. Might be nice. But the older I get, the more I like a simple amp I can plug straight into and have it produce great sounds however I set it. Guess I've had my gimmick phase.....

7. A friend of mine has a '68 Fender.............
a most amazing amp, only they sell for like $2000.00 these days. I would love to buy a sweet tube amp, but I'd rather not part with the cash for it.

I figure I'm attached to the computer quite a lot as it is, might as well have some fun while sitting here.

8. So do I..........
For sure.

But in this case, since I don't have an actual amp anymore and this would only be for recreation and practice, I was thinking of giving it a try.

5. sounds great but,
I'd probably spend too much time with it at
the expense of my family!

I currently use a line 6 Spider 212 and it kicks ass.
