Since I started this thread, I get to post even though I am a native Rust Belter!

Pierogies, beef on weck, chicken wings, clam bakes

When my car gets stuck in the snow, someone stops to help within 5 minutes or less!

We get to count the "ethnic" writers who live here because the north is nothing if not multicultural!

The New England kind, NOT the Manhattan kind.

But then y'all put sugar and cream on ya grits, which kinda cancels out the chowdah.

29. Y'all love my accent!
Whenever I go "nawth", folks crowd 'round to hear me tawk! And they love it when I do. Otherwise, I love the fall foliage, the big cities, the cultural diversity (we have it here too, but it's different). And the food, OMG, the food, especially the ethnic foods we can't get here! And particularly the seafood in the case of coastal cities. We have wonderful seafood here in the south, and in my small city, we have the best regional seafood restaurant/market close by (being friends with the owner helps)! However, it's always fun to taste the regional seafood...particularly in the NW and the NW!

36. New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art is supposedly excellent.
The one time I was in New York, we didn't get to see it. Stupid school trips.

Did get to see snow falling from the top of the Empire State building, which was nice.

Also, United Seafood (or whatever the name is) at Boston-Logan airport makes the best clam chowder I've ever had.
