Haruka and I are turning into Bridezillas
We've already planned a bunch of stuff. We were discussing wedding cakes this morning, and we don't even have a date set yet -- just "The Fall." We're setting a date when I move up there late Spring.

And, I just ordered two wedding books.

Jeebus.

I LOVE BEING A BRIDEZILLA!!!!!

12. We are tres excited
Miss Strawberry asked us on Saturday (whilst drinking in Madison) what she (as a bridesmaid) was going to be wearing. We were like -- who cares! Clothes are easy... but I just found a source for nice invitations with embossed shamrocks. THAT stuff is important!

My sister is getting married this weekend and I am so glad it's almost over. She had to delay the wedding once already because her shrink told her it was stressing her out too much. I never knew there was so much to it. Congrats again. :toast:

I'm not sure about us. Sniffa can wear his nice suit and a snazzy belt and tie, unless he wants to wear full dress kilt kit.

You won't have anything bad, I SWEAR. I sooooo know what that's like.

We decided you and sniffa will be Flowermaid and Ringbearer, and PROBABLY also the two official witnesses.

23. I've always been so amused by that term.
:D

I remember when I was going through that stuff. We'd been engaged for 6 mos when I suddenly found myself pregnant! We'd planned to have kids and we were being safe, but I guess ShineBoy just wanted to come on in early, now that we'd finally found each other. LOL, there's what you "plan" and then there's "what happens"!

We had to move the wedding date up cuz I sure as hell didnt' want to walk down the aisle 9 mos preggers. Like you, we'd planned a fall wedding, but we ended up moving it to June. Plus, b/c we were getting married 300 miles away, (long story there) we'd be going down every few weeks to work on the details. We'd be driving down and I'd have to get him to pull over so I could throw up on the side of the road, my "morning" sickness was so bad. :puke: Not fun, but now we can laugh about it. I got married at the age of 29 when I was 4 mos pregnant....became a wife and a mother within five months of each other. Talk about MAJOR life change. It's all good, though. We're still very happy and in love together, 15 yrs and 2 kids later.

I wish you all the best as you go through this fun, yet sometimes challenging, process. Planning a wedding is almost like running a small business, but it gives you both the opportunity to work together toward a common goal. Just remember, though: There's the wedding and then there's the marriage.....that's a whole different ballgame, sister! :D LOL.

Have fun. Many blessings to you! :toast:

34. How much is a Bridezillian?
Donald Rumsfeld is giving the President his daily briefing. He concludes by saying: "Yesterday, three Brazilian soldiers were killed."

"OH NO!" the President exclaims. "That's terrible!"

His staff sits stunned at this display of emotion, nervously watching as the President sits, head in hands.

Finally, the President looks up and asks, "How many is a brazillion?"

I'm so happy and excited for you both. I'm glad I have the opportunity to see and hear your excitement and enthusiasm. mr. swim and I have been together for 15 years and he is just now thinking about being all right with getting some rings. At 10 years he just wouldn't entertain the thought.

It looks like it will be quite a while before I can get married in my hometown. I hope you get to share your joy without reservation or censure. Life is far too short to have to hide our lights.

Love to you both!

For those that can't read the cross, it says:

May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and the rain fall soft upon your fields.
And 'til we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

SIL's dad didn't attend the ceremony. Said "he didn't believe in that" after accepting Andrea's coming out. He's one of these dudes who married some inbred 8 months after their mother died. You know how that story ends.

It's amazing how some people think gays are going to mess up the sanctity of marriage. Meanwhile, people like you're SIL's dad are proof of how heterosexuals totally fucked it up first.
