I am ordering Verizon FiOS ...
to replace Cablevision. I have now been on the phone with this guy for about 45 minutes. :eyes:

I hope the www access is faster than the customer service.

1. Do you have any other options?
Our experience with Verizon was hellish.

3. just Verizon or Cablevision
we never had any "real" options other than Cablevision until recently, and I am now taking my forth day off in a year for cable to service the damn connection :grr:

Was your experience with Verizon's FiOS or with DSL?

5. We had Verizon DSL and made the mistake of adding VOIP.
Three months and hundreds of dollars in cell phone bills later, our issue was finally solved. Worst customer service experience I have ever had.

6. yeah...
we have VOIP with cable. So every time the internet is out the phone is gone too. I don't think the FiOS is VOIP. I think it uses some separate channel over the fiber for phone.

2. Verizon's Customer Service is Terrible
I do not have Verizon's FiOS, but I know people who have actually decided not to go with Verizon because their customer service is so terrible.

If you ever need customer service, I wish you good luck.

You'll need it.

4. I don't know how it could be worse than Cablevision.
I am just hoping I don't need any support. Cablevision has me wasting 3 or 4 days off a year to wait for them to come and fix something or another.

10. Verizon's customer service has always been great for us.
Funny how different it can be for different people. They tend to go one step further even.

We are supposed to be wired within the next month or two an am seriously considering giving Cablevision the boot as well. Just need to know if it's worth the hassle

I feel pretty confident that I kicked that test's butt! :) I have to finish my "personal statement" essay tonight and I'm dropping off my grad school application in the mail tomorrow so finger's crossed.

14. The first 30 days are free
and you can cancel within that time without any penalty. That's why I'm holding on to cable until I know it works.

16. We had Comcast and changed to FiOS for TV and computer
and are much happier. Connection speed is much better with fewer problems. And the channel offerings on just the basic, which is all we got, is amazing. With Comcast, National Geographic and BBC America channels, by way of examples, was only available with the HD package. They are in the basic channel package with FiOS, as are a number of other channels we like. And the basic package price is less expensive than Comcast. I know what you mean about the initial set up calls, but we are happy we made the change.
