someone keeps using me as a doormat
but if i said anything, i'm afraid they wouldn't like me anymore and i don't want to get them mad. i mean, it's not her fault, she's been through a whole lot and what kind of a friend would i be if i made her feel like i didn't care?

1. But if you can't count on yourself to be a friend to yourself...
who can you count on?

If you feel like a doormat, I'd say it's time to reappraise your friendship.

3. If she quits liking you just because you speak up for yourself
then she isn't really a friend. She's a user.

Be good to yourself.

5. Either keep being a doormat, or don't be a doormat.
Not much advice to give here. If you think being a doormat is a good trade for being "liked" then keep being a doormat. Myself, I refuse, almost pathologically, to be a doormat. I couldn't stand it.

6. yep, that about sums it up
people either like you for who you are, or they like what you do for them. Which people do you want in your life?
