How am I supposed to wait around all day for a UPS delivery?
The attempted to deliver today. But I wasn't home because I have a job that coincides with their delivery hours (like most people I guess) and live alone so there is no one to sign for it. They won't (or can't) leave it with the apartment manager (even though they accept packages from the postal service). The little tag says approximate time of the next attempt is either 1030 to 2 pm or 2 pm to 5/ WTF? So I am supposed to take off all day basically because they can't be more definitive than that?

1. You can call their 800 number and have it re-routed to your work address.
I've done that many times.

2. That's odd - my landlord signs for UPS all the time
He's gotten quite a few packages for me because he's always here. Can you call them to clarify?

3. If you live anywhere near their depot, you can arrange to pick it up there as well.
That happened with a computer I ordered. I couldn't take off work to wait for them, and because it was a computer, they would not leave it on my porch (they routinely leave my deliveries on my porch - not a big crime area). Since their depot is only about two miles away, I drove over there in the evening and picked up my package.

4. I did that once I think
It might have been Fedex though, I don't remember.

Or it might be the excuse I need (as if I needed one) to take Friday off. I'll let them make one more attempt tomorrow, then see what the note says.

5. Been in the same boat.
The same thing happened to me, but with Fedex. The postal service and UPS deliver to my building, but Fedex wouldn't. And Fedex's call center had some hillbilly moran who kept talking in circles. Eventually, online I managed to get them to re-route to my work address.

Colleagues at work have all their packages shipped there.

6. That's VERY odd.
Our UPS guy leaves it with neighbors all the time.
