Fashionistas: pressing shoe issue:
I bought some ribbon espadrilles *kind of* like these:

They're SO cute, but when I walk, the ribbons slide down my legs, and I have to keep re-tying them.
How the eff do you get them to stay up?

1. Tie them so tight you cut off circulation.
That's what I've always done.

I'm serious. Remember, anything to be fashionable. No pain is too great. And those are darling shoes.

8. Lol!
I was thinking super glue; that was how I used to keep thigh-highs up.

11. There's this silicone stuff that's on my
thigh-highs. That works pretty well -- and doesn't hurt as much as super-glue when they come off. Or when I move my leg.

17. It was already there...
standard equipment. I've got two pair of thigh-highs right now and the same stuff's on both of them. I got one pair at Victoria's Secret and the other at Target. Betcha if you went to Target and bought a pair of the stockings, you could pull it off. It's in bands that are probably narrow enough to attach to your shoes. AND, you could probably just take off one strip (I think there are three of 'em) and still keep the stockings -- they should still stay up. And if not, there's always super glue.

;)

(Go for the Target stockings, though....waaaaaaaaaaaay less expensive)

19. Ahh- the rubbery band around the inside top of the stocking!
I still can't keep my thigh-highs up, even if they have that stuff. I have weird legs. Maybe it would work on the ribbons, though, since they're tied, too.

2. I know it's gonna sound odd...
but if you use something like double-sided tape on the side of the ribbon that's against your leg, that ought to stop the slipping. It's going to have to be some kind of adhesive, but not something so sticky that it'll hurt coming off.

Either that, or wear them when you haven't shaved for a day or two. Not long enough for stubble, just enough for the ribbon to have some....grip.

3. personally, i don't think they are supposed to be tied up
the calf...they should be worn ballerina style and tied around the ankle:shrug:

but, in the real world (and every dancer knows this) they are wrapped around your ankle a couple of times and tied in the back...

truly, does nice things for the legs that way...and you can move about freely

7. Get some double-sided tape...
the kind that kept J-Lo's hooters from popping out of her Versace. ;)

There is this one kind of like...silicone maybe, or latex...tape that you can also get (useful if you have skinny heels but wider insteps) but I can't seem to find a link.
