Cool lyrics: Tony Joe White |
|
I'm listening to a few new CDs I picked up. One of them is Tony Joe White's "The Heroines." It's all songs about women and duets with women.
The best song on the CD is "Can't Go Back Home" with Shelby Lynne. It has the lyrics
"I believe in living Give it all I've got I'm strong enough except when I'm not."
There is such a good blues feel to this song, and the delivery of those lyrics just hits you.
Cool stuff.

3. I only just stumbled across him. I'm going to have to track down |
|
his earlier CDs. Thank you for the recommendation. I'll start with whichever one has that song on it. :)

"Polk Salad Annie" is his best-known number, but I love his take on "Rainy Night In Georgia", too. Some authentic gut-bucket swamp music..
