Can I share this photo of my dog with you?
A friend sent it to me yesterday - I'd never seen this one and I really like it. This is Dixie, my best friend ever. She's been gone for over 6 years now but I still miss her like crazy. It's nice to have another picture of her.

:loveya:

4. She went everywhere with me from a pup
So she loved the car and always sat just like that while we drove. No jumping around on the seat. I even brought her to work with me - I worked on a construction site and she was so well behaved, my boss didn't mind having her there at all.

Thanks. :hi:

6. I picked her out when she was one week old
Brought her home at 8 weeks and she was my constant companion all her life. She had a gentle heart - anything small and furry was a puppy to her - she even mothered my son's guinea pig (I don't think the pig cared for it but it made Dix happy).

When I got sick with pneumonia, she never left my side. Every time I'd wake up, she'd be there right next to me. I have no idea when she went out to pee - she was always there.

Good friends like that are hard to come by.

8. What a cutie
My husband had a dog for 17 years--Shelly, aka "shithead". She was the coolest dog I've ever met. A friend of his did this wonderful pastel portrait of her. (We have it hung in our bedroom) She's been gone for 13 years now and I know he still misses her.

9. I'd like to have something like that
Maybe someday I'll be able to get one done from a photo. There's nothing quite like the friendship you can have with a dog. It can be a real partnership.
