How many DUers work more than one job and why?
I work two, which I am thankful for in a Bush economy. I am a therapist full-time and teach college full-time. I have to work two jobs to pay my MASSIVE student loan back and to support my buying cds habit. Friday night is my time to relax. I have to grade papers tomorrow. Damn, I need therapy, I guess I will talk to myself.

1. got 3 jobs and a retirement check 2x a month. Only 2 of my other jobs pay
me. The last job is actually research into edible seaweed. It seems we are running out of food while still doing our damn best to create more mouths to feed around the world.

2. I work 3
And have for some number of years. It's not the economy so much as that I have chosen personal fulfillment over fiscal reward. It's the only way I can support my lurid habits: eating meals and paying rent.

5. Actually,
that sounds like a good idea to keep an interesting assortment going. My wife tells me that I am on a quest to destroy all available free-time that I have left.

6. I work 2 jobs
One full-time and one part-time. Just to make ends meet. Single parent with daughter in college and many expenses. And in this economy it's hard to find better paying job opportunities.

Speaking of expenses...are gas prices up in other parts of the country? Shot up to 1.63 here in Kansas. Why????

8. 1 job.. but live with mom and have no money
Federal student aid's outta the question. Hard to work a back-breaking job with crappy pay full-time and keep a 3.8 in school. Gas, by the way, is at 1.59-1.70 in southern CA.

10. Full time job and free-lance writer
I work full time and then some for a small public school district doing a variety of jobs, including PR, adult ed and gifted/talented education services. I also free-lance for a group of weekly newspapers, covering other school districts, and have a small PR, desktop publishing business.
I do it because I have one kid in college and another one entering as soon as he graduates in two years.
Plus I like to travel. B-)

12. I sort of work two jobs.
I'm in the IT dept at a large company, and I play in a band on the weekends. I don't really consider the band as being "work", because it's so much fun and I don't do it as a primary source of income anymore. The extra $300 or so every week comes in handy, though.
