There's this movie about Werner Erhard that's out that pretty much looks like est propaganda (notice no one in the trailer is really against it), but if you are normal it still looks somewhat scary.

There was this French TV piece about Landmark too that I haven't had time to watch all of but exposes a bunch of stuff, especially how they run off a bunch of free labor:

1. Yes -
we had a neighbor who was into EST and he was one strange dude. That's all I can say. They moved and we were glad to see them go.

2. Knew Someone Into EST Once, Sir
An employer's friend. It was a continual struggle not to punch the person in the face, and ask afterwards "What moved you to create that reality for yourself?"

5. Way Too Many Statements, Ma'am
To the effect that a person creates every experience they undergo for a knock-about old dabbler in fortune and adventuring to tolerate amicably....

4. LOL! And if they ask me to one of their meetings one more time . . .
Grrrr. The whining and wheedling about going to one of their meetings makes me want to be sure to stay away.

6. I knew est-ers in the 70s
It was a fad in the office where I worked as a secretary. The people who took it were jerks before they got into it, and jerks after they moved onto the next fad. The scientologists, for all their bad press, were nicer people.

For a great overview of Erhard's many scams plus other cults of all kinds, I recommend rickross.com. Here's his Landmark page:

7. wow, that is a great link
I just read "the best of est", it really attempts to be objective which is nice. Ernhard is a former used-car salesman? Figures, lol.
