Album of the night, Badfinger's "Straight Up"
Haven't heard this cd in probably five years. Listening to AM radio, KLIF 1190 in 1972 and hearing hits like "Day after Day" and "Baby Blue" on my clock radio as a 10 year old. Memories rush in.

wonderful album. A great group that ended with not one, but two suicides. Many called them the second coming of the Beatles - they were even signed to the Apple label. A brilliant, and tragic band.

2. I'm sure you did
Several years ago on VH1. Bad management led to the suicide of Pete Ham. He even mentioned how evil their manager was in his suicide note. His songwriting partner Tom Evans would commit suicide a few years later. Just so unbelievably tragic.

"Day After Day" is one of the best singles of the 70's. Their story is so tragic..

5. Joey from Badfinger lives up here in Minny
I met him a couple of times, he's the friend of a guy I used to play in a band with. Nice bloke.

6. Say hello for me
I just recently found out that drummer Mike Gibbens passed away last year. He had a website, and about five years ago I asked a question on the message board about the concert for Bangladesh, and he answered.

Just tell Joey there are many of us still out there who love Badfinger. I'm sure he knows that, but it would feel good coming from me.

8. I still have the original LP
I almost wore it out playing it so much when it first came out.
