Seriously, there are few things more heart-wrenchingly beautiful. Puts me close to tears every time I hear it.

1. I LOVE the Everly Brothers, but that's not my favorite song of theirs.

It's hard to say which one is--"Bye Bye Love", "Cathy's Clown," "Problems,"--I like them all. They harmonize so well.

"Problems" is one of the few older rock songs that I remember from the time it came out.

Are you old enough to remember them, or you just found out about them from the radio or parents?

2. "Problems"? When did they cover the Sex Pistols?
;)

I found out about them from my parents' record collection, as they had broken up before I was born. I remember being thrilled when I got to see their reunion special on HBO. Even got the vinyl of that and the reunion album. My wife and I went to see them 6 or 7 years ago, and they sounded exactly the same as they did in the late 50s. (We also saw them as part of the Simon and Garfunkel reunion tour.)

3. That's my mom and dad's song. :)
They've been married 46 years. Every time I hear that song, I think of them.

6. My parents taught them both in school
Shenandoah Iowa to be exact. They used to come to our house with the newest 45 rpm records and give them to my older brother back in the day. They have one of the first copies of Wake up Little Susie. My folks have spent time with Don at his ranch on New Years a few years ago. They also went to Vegas to see them with comp tickets etc. Nice boys my mother says- There is nothing like hearing family members harmonize together.

7. This thread is worthless
without a youtube link :argh:

I assume this is the same song that Willie Nelson and Colin Raye covered.

9. I doubt there is a youtube of them singing it
and, yeah, Willie Nelson. But the Everly brothers brought an adolescent angst to it that got talked a whole lot of my friends into backseats!

11. I dont want to hang out with people-or even KNOW people who dont like Don & Phil.
You are CORRECT!

The Everly harmonies are indeed the most beautiful things EVER in the universe!!!

I even love the Country-rock stuff they did in the late 60's & early 70's...

(FYI: The mono mixes of their tunes on the vinyl LPs blow the "remastered" stereo CDs away, for those interested & loyal enough to still own a turntable...)
