7 Year Old Faces Arson Charges For Setting Bulletin Board On Fire

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Police said a seven-year-old boy set a bulletin board on fire at a Port St. Lucie elementary school.

A secretary first saw the fire last week and put it out with her hand. A police report said she sustained minor hand injuries and was treated at the scene by rescue officials.

An eight-year-old boy told school officials that he let the seven-year-old boy borrow a lighter. The seven-year-old said he didn't know why he started the fire.

The boy was arrested and school officials expect to suspend him for at least 10 days. They also will recommend he be expelled.

The eight-year-old boy was not charged with a crime but is expected to be suspended for at least three days.

Seriously, you give a kid something to start fires with and he/she will. Just like if you give kids tools they hammer/saw/drill/etc. anything and when asked why will almost invariably answer "I don't know."
