CONFESS!!!!! Women (and women)-what was the first makeup you ever wore?
I swear my mother wanted me to be a streetwalker with the horrible first makeup she bought me. It was recommended to her from the Avon Lady and it was the most garish colors of red for blush & lipstick and that obnoxious blue eyeshadow that everyone wore in the 70s. Plus I was not allowed to wear mascara so here were these eyes with bright blue eyeshadow on them and blonde eyelashes&eyebrows.

What's your first makeup horror story

1. What was it about that blue eye shadow?
I had a friend in school who we used to call "Lightbulbs" because she wore so much of it.

3. Bonnie Bell lip smackers!
Probably that horrible watermelon flavor...I can still taste it x(

as for other make-up, my mom bought Merle Norman/Clinique/Lancome products and gave me all the 'free gifts' so I wore a bunch of 'berry raisin' lipstick and coral shaded blush along with weird combos of eye shadow.

5. I don't really remember what kind it was. I got it for my 14th birthday.
It came in a "caboodle". Tons of different kinds. Of course I had no idea how to use half of it and probably looked like a clown for a while!

6. This will show my age...
My first makeup was Tangee natural lipstick.

It looked orange in the tube, but it turned pink on your lips.

I started wearing it when I was in seventh grade because my big sisters told me I had to wear lipstick because the other girls would be wearing it,and I would otherwise feel left out!

7. That's so funny, I was just thinking about this very subject this
morning as I drove to work and heard a radio commercial for some fake tanning place. Made me remember how we baked ourselves in the sun, lightened our long straight hair and wore white lipstick. All in fruitless quest to look like a "California girl."

Of course, there were pounds of blue eyeshadow, but the white lipstick I remember more clearly. I must have looked like a cadaver.

Very difficult to wipe off quickly, when you're not supposed to be wearing it, and you're about to get busted.

....what can I say? I was a victim of the times.

And to top it off, that was back in the day when the "cool" nylons to were were the cinnamon colored ones!

13. Tangee lipstick in a bright pink color.
 I "borrowed" Mom's lipstick when I was six. The next year, I got a vanity set for Christmas, which was where my makeup fetish started. :P It came complete with "young ladies' makeup" and everything, even though I was seven.

15. Maybelline Great Lash Mascara.
I didn't like eyeshadow so I sometimes wore the midnight blue mascara for color.

than when I was younger and extremely conservative... although in my day we did wear foundation :puke:
