6. shit you all have me beat
I was guessing based on how much alcohol I'm told certain drinks have, but since I passed out I could've been above 0.2

23. However much it takes to make you see triple
That was the most drunk I've ever been. Innumerable boilermakers at a bachelor party. I can't imagine what I must have looked like to other people when everything to me was in threes.

7. I'd say roughly .25
Edited on Sat Aug-02-03 12:09 AM by MoonGod
Nearly half a bottle of vodka and a couple wine coolers on an empty stomache. Only time in my life I've been really drunk. Wound up rather ill and had the dry heaves for what seemed like an eternity.

edit for subject typo: roughtly = roughly

9. Do you really want to know? I mean seriously want to know?
I've got probably everyone on this board topped, not that I'm proud of it.

I OD'd on vodka when I was 23. On the way to the hospital I died three times, but was lucky enough to be brought back each time. I really should have died that night.

When they tested my blood they told me that there was no way I should be walking around. They'd never seen anyone survive with a blood/alcohol count as high as mine.

How high? 55% of my blood was alcohol. That's not a mistake. Over half my blood was vodka when they brought me in.

Needless to say I was in the hospital for a bit after that.

I guess you could call me Khephra Thrice-Died.

10. You must have misunderstood something...
Edited on Sat Aug-02-03 12:29 AM by MoonGod
... no way your BAC was 55%.

.55 would almost definitely be fatal.. and you're claiming that your BAC was 100 times that?

Besides all that, you'd have to consume over 2000 drinks in order to get to a 55% BAC.

Maybe it was .55? Which is still WAAAAAAAAAAAAY fucking high, and they were right, you were DAMN lucky to survive. People have died around from having BAC's around .3

edit: left off a 0 in 2000

11. 55%? slight exaggeration?
Edited on Sat Aug-02-03 12:30 AM by unblock
ok, the e.r. folks might have TOLD you that your blood was 110 proof, but, sorry to say, unless you we getting a transfusion of grain alcohol to replace your blood, then there's no way you were anywhere close to 55% alcohol.

.55% i might believe, as that would certainly be a lethal dose, but not so high that i couldn't believe one could survive.

12. That can't be right, re: 55%. You must mean 0.55, which is VERY high.
http://www.habitsmart.com/bal.html

(snips)

The amount of alcohol in your blood stream is referred to as Blood Alcohol Level (BAL). It is recorded in milligrams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood, or milligrams percent. For example, a BAL of .10 means that 1/10 of 1 percent (or 1/1000) of your total blood content is alcohol.

.15 IMPAIRED BALANCE AND MOVEMENT. CLEARLY DRUNK.

.30 MANY LOSE CONSCIOUSNESS

.40 MOST LOSE CONSCIOUSNESS; SOME DIE.

.50 BREATHING STOPS. MANY DIE.

13. the highest ever survived
was something around 1.2, which is 1.2% alcohol. 55% and you would've been long dead.

so you were probably 0.55%, which is still very very lucky to of lived.

16. Sue me...I left out a "."
Edited on Sat Aug-02-03 01:35 AM by khephra
;-)

It's late.

The rest of it is according to what the doctors told me. If there's any exageration, it's on their part. The bits about me dying three times, and the 0.55 is right. I just wrote the numbers the wrong way.

I basically chugged a bottle of straight vodka (what's the size of larger than a 1/5th? A liter?) in a half hour/hour...the exact time frame is a bit blurry as you can imagine. One minute I was drinking and then the next I'm in a hospital with tubes everywhere and my arms strapped to the side of the bed.

tube in your ass? My buddy drank a 5th of whisky one night and I took him to the hospital, the next day he called me and yelled about the tube in his ass (I think it was to take his temp)

18. Was declared dead
several beer plus most of a bottle of gin. Passed out on the floor trying to crawl back to my room. A med student tried to take my pulse and couldn't find one and started running up and down the hall screaming.

They threw me in the shower and I sort of slithered out and started moaning. They put in my roommate's bed because he'd already thrown up all over mine. I threw up all over his.

22. .39-not me!
I ran into an old buddy over the fourth, I hadn't seen him in 20 years. It seems that his ex-wife got into the Vodka as a full time job. He was explaining how he got the kids, it seems she was pulled over on the interstate with the children in the back seat. She blew a .39 BAC and had to be revived twice on the way to the hospital. It seems she decided to take a road trip from New York (Rochester), to Florida, she made it all the way to southern Pennsylvania.Scarey to think there are people like that out there!

26. I knew an ex-cop
who told a story about how they pulled a guy over once. This guy seemed a little tipsy, but not drunk, and passed the sobriety tests they gave him (walking the line, etc.), but because he was an asshole they gave him the breath test and he blew a .37
