4. Boy has he ever
I remember a great skit he did on SNL back when he was the "Sexiest Man Alive" (I think it was between the 2 Lethal Weapons). The skit was about Dr. Mel Gibson, Gynecologist and basically his waiting room was overloaded with women who wanted to have Mel Gibson as their gynecologist.

I have a feeling Mel's waiting room is pretty damn empty today

8. As it happens, I just thought about that skit yesterday
TBS was airing the awful, awful, awful film What Women Want, and my wife and I were commenting on what a pitiful joke Mel has become.

I'm not ashamed to admit that I really used to like his work. Not that I thought of it as high art, but I found most of his films to be enjoyable for what they were.

Also, anyone who enjoyed the Lord of the Rings trilogy owes Mel a debt of thanks IMO because studios would have been reluctant to get behind such a venture if Mel hadn't demonstrated that a three-hour medieval slash-fest could return big box office receipts. I mean, I don't look at Braveheart as a compelling historical treatise, but it's a creditable (if somewhat over the top) film. It's a shame that its director has made such a joke of himself that he's tainted all of his prior work (including his excellent appearance on The Simpsons a few years back).

3. Hey I could think of other movies he could get involved with
I mean him and his father could do a remake of "Triumph of the Will"

5. Why isn't he going to do the story of Christ's birth?
I mean being such a devout Xian and depicting the Crucifixion with such clarity I would think he would want to offer up the story of the birth of Jesus. Wouldn't that be a natural thing to want to do? Or is the story of the birth not bloody and gruesome enough to satisfy the same audience that drooled over the Passion of Christ?

6. He had planned to make that film, but
Then the worldwide conspiracy of Jews and Mayans got together and suppressed his lofty artistic vision.

7. Oh yeah, we must not forget the Jewish conspiracy.
:sarcasm:

I would almost bet though that he or someone like him would want to make a story about the book of Revelations. Lots of fodder for the mill in that.
