1. clones suck so much its not even funny

Just saw it today.. GOD I HATE IT

words can't describe it. the dialogue is written by a chimpanzee.

Yoda DOES NOT LOOK REAL IN CGI

and damn you can see how the actors are miserable acting infront of a constant blue screen.

and I haven't even mentioned how the script suck

Too many sets and it'll look fake.

Too many blue screens and it'll look fake too, but you then have to wonder how many takes it got to do the scenes because all the actors didn't quite know which bits of blue to look at... :eyes:

I also recall a glaring flaw in the centipedes unleashed into Amidala's bedroom... it's been a couple of years, but I think it was a shadow and/or how the little legs were moving.

And for a film that was done on 100% digital camera equipment, they had to spend a lot of money to transfer the image to film anyway because the 99% of theatres that couldn't afford to upgrade had to show the movie to the audience all the same.

I gather the DVD version looks and sounds great, but if the acting and plotting are crap then forget it. Having seen the movie, the plotting is crap and I refuse to acknowledge Hayden Christensen as an actor. He even brought down Natalie Portman who played Amidala, and she's supposed to be a passable actress!!

Christopher Lee managed to drag this movie up alot in the few scenes he starred in

14. I'm always amazed at how Lucas has the singular skill

to take really good actors and squeeze the life out of them and get poor performances. it must be intolerable working under him - jackson, lee, portman, the young lad who plays annakin: all good actors, IMO, and all delivered really mediocre performances.

For the last few years, since seeing these abominable creations, all I can picture is Lucas doing take after take and take and saying, "Too much life in that line, act more wooden and dead, please, this'll be perfect for the lifeless pedantic script I've written..."

2. Hopefully you are going to cut "Clones" short..

and switch over to the better film. I think "Clones" is well over 2hrs.

3. Oh yes, Frodo beats out Obi Wan

that's for sure.

I know Clones isn't that good but it's still Star Wars and that franchise holds a very special place in my heart.

It would be nice if George Lucas allowed someone else to write the final movie.

10. The real fans know it started with "Jedi"...

Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back remain masterpieces, equal in quality to the Lord of the Rings films. But then came Return of the Jedi, and everything went to hell.

Some fans are in denial about Episode VI, thankfully Return of the KING demonstrates how a trilogy should be wrapped up.

11. While Peter Jackson did an AWESOME and most EXCELLENT

job with the LOTR trilogy, he did have a lot of help in that the books were already written. George Lucas came up with the Star Wars characters on his own.

George Lucas has one more opportunity to redeem himself and make a good movie with a powerful storyline and more believeable characters.

12. I think he screwed the final film with how he did "Clones"

Too much has to happen. They have to go from the end of "Clones" to not that far behind the beginning of Star Wars. Also, how can you give the last one a decent ending? All hope has to be lost by the time this one ends, if not, then the continuity is kinda screwed up. The title of the first movie was "A New Hope" which gives the impression that for a while there was none.

The empire is all encompassing and all powerful in the beginning of "Hope", which is where the next one has to end. The only positives would be the birth of Luke and Leia, with all the characters you care about during the movie either becoming wretchedly evil, or dead. Save Yoda and Obi Wan who tuck tale and go hide in a swamp and a cave respectively. Forces of good nearly completely exterminated, and the emergence of some seriously fucked up evil....ya, I'm gonna like the mood when the credits start to roll. I predict such a obvious rip off of "Empire" that it'd almost qualify as a remake.

13. Vader should've been Lancelot... not a whiny, baby space Jesus.

The first Star Wars movies were a sort of sci-fi Camelot, with Luke as Arthur, and Ben as Merlin.

Vader should've just been a heroic ADULT who falls in love with his Queen, falls from grace, and brings everything down around him. That would've been neat-o.

Instead we get whiny children uttering inane lines like, "I'll try spinning! That's a good trick!", and "I hate sand! It gets stuck between your ass cheeks and stuff."

15. What in God's name

happened to the Star Wars films? The last two movies really were pretty pathetic.

I recall the scenes in Attack of the Clones, and how you FELT the CGI at times. It was glaring, especially with the army of storm troopers near the end. I also have to agree that the CGI Yoda didn't work. It simply lacked the organic, rubbery look we all were used to...and it just felt awkward having him bounce all over the place like that...

Let's not even talk about The script...absolutely atrocious...

After watching the LOTR films, I'm amazed how much better the visual effects in these films have been. It seemed that WETA digital really has outdone ILM.

Granted, I heard that Jackson had contacted Lucas about some of the technology they had utilized.

I've heard this debate raging between hard core fans of both films over which franchise is better. Personally I have to go with LOTR -- simply overall better acting, better story, etc etc. The original Star Wars was still a spectacular breathrough in terms of modern sci fi/fantasy film, especially with regard to visual effects. Of course, SW was influenced by the LOTR books, so I guess they both have influenced each other in a way.

As for Episode III, I'm not very excited about it now. I've given up hope after the last two films...but I'll still go and see it of course.

Hopefully Much much darker and not so "fun" in the idiotic ways nr 1 and 2 were fun.

I don't doubt well just see acting infront of a huge blue scree but atleast the script will be better.

Hope is the last thing that dies.
