Anyone else watching The Riches?

I'm a fan of Eddie Izzard so I thought I'd give it a chance.

One of the more bizarre shows I've watching in a long time. I think I like it.

1. I saw the first episode, and thought it was quite good

Minnie Driver did a great job, I thought. It wasn't a role I would've imagined Eddie Izzard in, but he did well, too.

Alas, I missed last week's episode, so now I'm not sure whether I'll watch it tonight and try to catch up, or just wait for the DVD release and watch them all at once. :)

2. So many spoilers out there

I figure I'll watch it all season long and then catch it on dvd, in case I missed something.

It's a great premise and they've made the Travellers look human. It can't be too easy of a subject to write about-very dark.

3. So far so good, I am loving the show

but then again, I've always thought that travelers were fascinating and for a traveler to take on the life of a lawyer, genius!

4. Lies and then more lies.

And Eddie Izzard is great in that role.

I especially love that the youngest son likes to wear dresses. When Dahlia notices that he's still doing this (after she got out of prison) she has the attitude of "there are worse things."

It's especially funny since Izzard has made a career of being a transvestite.

7. Wasn't their comment about the youngest that at least he wasn't

hooked on crack or something like that. I thought it was priceless, it is priceless that they let him be who he is.

13. It was something like

"At least he's not smoking crack."

And it was a good episode last night. I loved it when he called out the other attorney for obviously lying about having a large family. Even funnier was when everyone in the office smirked as the guy was escorted out.

24. I loved how he was convincing the paralegal to do the work on the

case, he was playing to her ego.

I really enjoy the show.

25. The guy really is very smart.

That's what has always made me scratch my head when so-called "normal" people make people like this (whether a traveller, someone living in the hills, etc) sound ignorant. These people are able to come up w/ elaborate schemes to make a living or they are able to survive with no help and no job whatsoever.

I'm just happy to see that television is treating a segment of society that most would refer to as "white trash" as actually intelligent people who do what they do by station of birth. If someone like him had been born to an upper-middle to wealthy family he'd be a CEO by now.

5. we're watching

we started because we're big Izzard fans but it's a good show! ("good" is a FANTASTIC review from me considering tv so..)

6. It's one of the best ones out there right now.

Of course, it's hidden on cable.

10. I'll be watching in about 4 hours!

I usually watch when they show it again at 11, because 9-11 is Monday Night Raw!! FX has some pretty good shows. I'm really enjoying Dirt (season finale coming up!!:bounce: )and Nip/Tuck is one of my favorite shows.

in April.

Is that Forest Whitaker I'm briefly seeing in the commercials?

(Answered myself-I thought I saw him but I also see the commercials pretty late at night.)

and I believe this was only the third episode-plenty of time to easily catch up and jump in.

Eddie Izzard fan and have been so for years.

It's nice to see him in such a great role. Hopefully people will finally take notice of him.

I think it would be better if they used their own accents and were travelers in Europe infiltrating some snobbish posh English institution or other. Loads of potential there IMHO of course-
