What should I look for in a Flat Panel monitor?

any recommendations for anything between $250-400, should I bother buying an extended warranty or protection plan?

This is the one I own and it only cost $179 (Hanns G HW191D) :

Make sure you have a video card that's capable of supporting widescreen resolutions.
