Does anyone remember the time we could change our usernames and still keep the post count?

Before the username amnesty, I'd never been to any meetups or met so many DUers in person. Since then, I've been subject to the amusing, if slightly painful, spectacle of people trying to pronounce my username, which sometimes makes me wish I'd changed it to, oh, I dunno, actual words or something.

but I wasn't a member then. I wish I could change mine without losing the date I became a member. The post count really isn't an issue with me, obviously and it's also obvious why I'd like to change it.

I remember Bertha's old name. I liked it but I think she changed it after the amnesty and had to start her post count over.

I changed my name. I was going to do it anyway, even posted about it then the next day they announced the amnesty and I jumped on it, glad I did too.

20. When I'm at work, I turn off sig lines, pics & avatars

that way, I don't have pictures popping up all the time at possibly inopportune moments.

I had meant "old" more because I've been on DU since October of 2003, so I'm not really a newbie anymore - though, I'm pretty sure I'm still fairly anonymous.
