video of a coati i took in the rainforest this weekend

i'm still trying to get the hang of my digital video camera. i really need to use a tripod since i'm way too shaky for shooting when the telephoto is zoomed out. here's a practice video i took of a coati (known as a pizote down here). they're a neotropical relative of the raccoon.

i got a lot of videos of white faced cappuchins too and when i edit out the shakes i'll post those. i was three feet away from them! i have never been that close to cappuchins or any other monkeys in the wild.

3. the coati video wasn't too shaky.....

...because i was close enough that i didn't have to extend the zoom out fully.

but i'd be embarrassed to show you the bird videos i tried shooting. too bad too, because i have one of a toucan really wailing. it looks like someone with parkinson's shot it though. :(

Dave makes an excellent tripod by the way!!! He's forever the designated photog from now one when we're together and it come to night shots or telephoto. Dude doesn't move a MUSCLE. You should see the ones he got while I was in Austin. He's talented! ;)

I, on the other hand, need a tripod too!
