So who gets the toaster?
the recruiter or the recruitee?

I always thought it was the recruiter but really how many toasters does one woman need? :silly:

2. The recruiter by default ...
unless the recruiter promised the recruitee the toaster, then it is forfeited to the recruitee.

4. The recruiter
Which makes it twice as ridiculous that someone would "convert" to get ME a toaster.

5. Enjoy your toasters in hell
No matter who get the toaster it's just wrong and unnatural . . .
to make decisions on who to sleep with based on kitchen appliances.

8. It's the recruiter
Which kind of makes sense, but there should be an incentive for the recruit. After all, she's the one changing her life. Is a toaster oven too much to ask?

BTW: There's a wide range of prizes now...
In addition to small personal electronics, Tired of Toaster Ovens offers sports equipment, camping gear, automotive tools, clothing, and women’s music CDs. The store plans to expand its offerings in the fall to include more glamourous (sic) prizes, including a cameo as a substitute gym teacher on South of Nowhere, and a spot on the Pussycat Dolls’ road crew.

I always thought the recruit got it because it was like when the banks used to give away small appliances when you opened an account with them.

17. Oh, for the love of Mike (Michelle?).
It is not a toaster. It is a toaster oven. Anyone who claims otherwise is clearly a right-wing plant hell-bent on sending gay and especially lesbian people back to the Dark Ages. :sarcasm:

And on Ellen, where it all began, Ellen herself (the recruitee) got it (the toaster oven, that is).

I could have sworn that Melissa Etheridge gave Laura Dern that toaster.

Hmmm...now you have me doubting myself.

Edited to add this picture...

24. Ummmm... errrrrr... the honest answer to that is No.
But wasn't Laura Dern the co-recruitee (with Melissa Etheridge as recruiter)? And, most importantly, wouldn't this appliance snub be an important psychological factor in Ellen's pathologic, obsessive drive to dominate the world of daytime talk shows? :P

22. re: who gets the toaster according to Gay Central Commitee and revised Gay Agenda --
Edited on Tue Mar-27-07 06:53 PM by xchrom
''In the case of a lesbian who turns out a straight woman -- it is the RECRUIT who gets the PANINI GRILL.''

there has been much pissing and moaning and FALSE rumours about this -- compounded with Gay Central Committees long standing snit with Sunbeam appliances.

they haven't been able to squash these rumours as fast as they like -- and frankly 2ixst came out with a new line of jockstraps and boxer briefs -- which has CERTAIN unnamed people not doing their JOBS.

now once again -- aubergine/eggplant/purple will require at least four to six months of waiting because of a backlog -- and frankly because the italians wouldn't know aubergine/eggplant/purple if it bit them in the ass.
which one of our employees actually did which has resulted in a public apology and a messy law suit.

I remember because I suggested that we bake cookies in a toaster oven at our table at PrideFest. :hi: (small open and affirming xian congregation) yeah, I was a church lady.

27. Fast Skimming
At the end it really isn't that clear. Melissa Etheridge makes Ellen sign all these forms and then she just plops the toaster oven on the table.

IN the episode, in the part where Ellen thinks Susan, (Laura Dern), is trying to turn her gay, Susan said she would "have to call national headquarters and tell them I lost you. Damn, just one more and I would have gotten that toaster oven".
