Star Wars stamps unveiled in US
Why, oh why won't the American media report real news like this?

Star Wars stamps unveiled in US

Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia are among the characters featured on a set of US stamps marking 30 years of the Star Wars films.

A set of 15 stamps is being issued as a poster, and members of the public will be asked to vote for their favourite.

The set will go on sale on 25 May, shortly after the basic US postage rate is raised to 41 cents (21p).

2. The postage increase was announced about a month ago
You may remember talk of a "generic first class" postage stamp which would always be worth first class postage regardless of how much you paid when you bought it. This would both eliminate the need for "adjustment postage" after an increase, and help hide from the consumer how high postage has become.

4. I can't believe Darth Maul, a cliched piece of shit character that's in one movie,
gets picked over Lando Calrissien.

That's fucking bullshit. PURE FUCKING BULLSHIT.

I also think it's crap that R2D2 isn't getting his own stamp. That, too, is bullshit.

The deathstar should have gotten it's own stamp as well.

Post Office fucked up on this one.

At least Jar Jar and the ewoks aren't getting stamps, but IMO they both deserve stamps long, long, long before that ridiculously awful character Darth Maul does.

If it were up to me, I'd replace the Darth Maul with R2D2; the Obi-Wan/Anakin battle with the second Deathstar; the Leia/R2D2 with one for just Leia; and add a Lando stamp.

10. But evil is more fun than than independent being pulled in two ways, you know!
:P

Post office shouldn't be bought by two-bit nobodies who think they're as good or better than deities.

What next, all the mail staff will have to wear John Lennon face masks? :eyes: Wait, that's not star wars, but the dude felt he was better than God anyway so it works... besides, walking into the post office and seeing everybody looking like Wookies or Stormtroopers scares the heebie-jeebies out of me...

9. First the R2D2 mailboxes and now this.
In the past, changing the appearance of a mailbox was to be a crime. Now this garbage is legal. I look for a mailbox. Not a cheap representation of a lame robot whose color scheme blends into the ambient surroundings all too well.

And what did Luke and Leia do that real heros haven't? Well, given Luke and Leia are blood siblings, the fact they frenched kissed in "The Empire Strikes Back" speaks volumes...

11. My letter needs to be delivered through the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs.
I guess I'll use the Milennium Falcon stamp!
