They used to have these on the back cereal boxes

And I confess. More than once me and my friends lip-synced "Sugar, sugar"

2. OMG! I had one of those!
:hi: :D ;) I collected records from cereal boxes when I was a kid. I had a bunch of them! And I loved getting prizes in the box too. :bounce: :woohoo: 60s and early 70s cereals were the greatest, 'cause they had great prizes! :P

15. Had that damned song in my head the whole time I was in Seattle
The bluest skies I've ever seen....in Seattle
And the hills the greenest green...in Seattle
Like a beautiful child, growing up, free and wild
Full of hope and full of fear full of laughter through the years
In seattle

(might have got that wrong - did it from memory)

That show traumatized me, because my little friends always made ME be Bobby Sherman because I was the tallest.

Amazing that I came out of that era with my heterosexuality intact, a fact I attribute to Robert Conrad, who I used to fantasize about when he was on "Wild Wild West" (little did I realize I'd grow to be about 6" taller than him, but hey....)

5. I still have a Monkees record!
"I Want to be Free"--number three in a series of four. Never got the other three (the command to "collect 'em all" didn't seem to work on me).

Still plays, too, albeit quite warped.

I was irked that there was only room for three Monkees' faces--I think they left off Peter. I always felt bad for him because of that (snarf--ah, a 6-year-old's compassion...)

6. I remember those!
I had to put a quarter on the record player needle to make it heavy enough to play them.

9. I forget which cereal company offered them, but we used to get records
with our cereal that were like short audio books; the horror series was the most popular: The Headless Horseman, The Miser's Gold, and so on. The kid on the block who collected all four was considered the coolest.

I never DID get all four records! :grr:

Super cool. I seem to recall they were flimsy square records. :D

14. Yeah, flimsy, all right. For those of us who didn't seem to be able to collect
them all, the secondary contest was to see who could keep theirs in playing condition the longest.
