You wake up in the morning, and don't really feel like going to work. But you do...
And the minute you get there. You know your instincts were right, and you should have stayed home. Man this morning put me in a bad mood. I hate cleaning up other people's messes. Having to troubleshoot, and search for what went wrong and then having to fix it. Makes me want to run around the building screaming with my underwear on my head. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

5. I had that feeling last week.
I puked, oh, six times on the way to work, but decided that since I had an test scheduled, I needed to go on in. (Stomach virus). After I gave the exam, I tried to lecture on the Meiji Revolution, but, unfortunately the hot lights on the podium made me lightheaded and even more pukey. I had to evacuate the lecturn for the bathroom, with a quick, "Class is dismissed...I'm virusy" as I hustled to get my stuff together and to the bathroom.

Next time I have a stomach virus, I'm calling class. Period.

7. Sometimes...
I feel bad, like something is going to happen, and I don't want to be a part of it. Like two profs getting into a screaming, cursing match over job candidates...that kind of atmosphere I can do without.

On days like that, I sometimes wish I could get sick and leave. :-)

8. You are not in a bell tower with a sniper scope.
You are not laying on the yellow line, and you are not (presumably) reaching for a cup of hemlock. Instead you are running around your building with your underwear on your head screaming "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA..."

It could ALWAYS be worse. Don't you feel LUCKY???

9. High powered rifles are to good for some people.
It is a waste of ammunition.

The running around, would be a stress releiver for me.

11. It was the underwear on your head thing that got to me.
I was wondering how long you'd had it on, was it old with floppy elastic and was it a thong. Practical considerations--ya know? I mean my mom always told me to put on new and clean underpants before leaving the house so I wouldn't be embarrassed if I ended up in the ER. I'd assume that would also probably be a good idea if you are gonna wear it up over your head.

I was also contemplating the idea that if you wear stuff like hair gel maybe a panti-liner would be a good idea...

Maybe I'm just being too pragmatic here, I dunno.

10. That's how I feel almost everynight at work.
Last night we had a meeting with our senior manager , and the whole time I was thinking to myself "this is a bunch of bullshit ... and note to self, for now on sit in the back". I wanted to get up out of the meeting and just walk out. So I just sat there about to explode at the bullshit information that we were given. We already feel like shit but the info we were given meant to us that officially, we are not shit and we never get any credit for anything. I know I am going to be called into the office tonight because its just a bunch of bs and all I can do is just laugh. I know exactly what is going to happen next ... time to save my ass and post out.

15. Neither have I, Until this year.
And that was because I had the stomach bug going around. I at one point last year was at work with a 102 temp and a raging ear infection. I was told to never do that again. But if I did not come in our department would not have the coverage and I can not count on one of my coworkers to do very much. So, I have to come in.

17. Lubbock
It's 'cause you're in Lubbock. You need to come down here to Austin. At least here if you do end up running around with your underwear on your head, no one will say anything or even point.

There are three of us here. But I can not get help from either one. One wants to do other departments work, and the other is just a big fuck off. I am so pissed right now.

I've been really stressed at work and have had a week of actually less stress in a lot of ways and more in others... but ultimately everything that has happened this week has taken a load off my mind!

Today I have to monitor a lot of areas of West Texas and Central Texas due to severe storms. And I am the only one here for my department.
