Hot News! There's going to be a "Nat'l Treasure II"
Don't you just love sequels.

My S.O. auditioned for a role yesterday.

I can't believe I don't have kids, and yet still saw the first "National Treasure". Thanks to USAir, I think I've seen every crappy PG and mild-R rated movie ever made.

1. Didnt they find the treasure in the first movie?
why do they need a sequel, did they lose it again?

23. The clues for the sequel are on the obverse side of the dollar bill.

3. National Treasure wasn't THAT bad.
Granted, I was trapped like you were when I watched it, but considering what it is intended to be (a campy action-ish movie), I don't think it's bad at all. I'm not exactly putting it up for any Oscars or anything, but still.

I probably would watch the sequel on DVD, or even in theatres if I had to.

5. I did enjoy all the scenes set in Philadelphia
A few were just a block or two from my office.

The thing is, I really, really, hate Nicolas Cage. Nothing personal, he just drives me up a wall. So that's a big minus.....

12. The bar my brother works at is in one of the shots...
the whole block is in focus too. He has the still-frame blown-up 300%, printed, and hanging on his wall.

29. Yeah, like no one in Hollywoodwood knew about Uncle Francis
Blech.

Just not a fan.

Except maybe in Peggy Sue. He was good in that....

6. Did he enjoy his stint in the City of Brotherly Love?
I think they're doing the next one in Baltimore or D.C., since they were casting in Baltimore (at the agency that John Waters uses)

7. He did! They had a really nice time. He brought his wife and daughter
with him for a while and they really had a good time exploring the city. One of my favorite pics of my niece is from that time. I don't know if he's working on this one. We don't talk nearly as often as we should.

casting left and right.

I was an extra in "Serial Mom" but :wtf:
Who cares? I got to have dinner with Traci Lords during "Cry Baby" production !

:wow:

Everyone treated her like shiite because of her Porn background. She was really quite nice:loveya:

8. National Treasure was the last movie I saw with my mom
She was already showing signs of confusion and had trouble following it, but we had a nice evening together. First, dinner at a Chinese buffet, then the movie, then drove home under a beautiful full moon.

I'll go see the sequel and imagine her there with me.

9. Last movie I saw with my mother was "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas"
She had no clue what a Whorehouse was - she just liked Dolly Parton.

She hasn't seen a movie yet until 2 weekends ago when her husband wanted to see "Wild Hogs"

18. Hmm, "Wild Hogs" was the last movie I saw with my Mom
It was her idea, I wasn't thrilled, but laughed through the movie anyway. Next up, "Happy Feet" on DVD for Easter.

22. The reason that was the last movie I saw with my mom is that she was
then developing a brain tumor, and died a few months later. It was the brain tumor that caused her confusion. Actually, she loved movies, and she and I went often. She and my dad probably went about once a week.

Mostly because of the scenes in my home away from home, D.C.

Oscar or no, I think he sucks. The only movie I've ever liked him in was "Peggy Sue Got Married"

19. I liked it too. It was fun to watch, much like Van Helsing.
I look on both movies as live-action comic books, suspend my disbelief, and have a good time.

The sidekick, Riley, was hilarious! Such snark from someone so new to movies...

And the story was very engaging. I'll go see it.

21. "You don't know this? I know something about history that you don't know."
"I'd be very excited to learn about it, Riley."

"Hold on one second, let me just take in this moment. This is cool. Is this how you feel all the time? Well, except now."

15. It's my family's tradition to go out for dinner and a movie for my husband's birthday
My son saw the advertisements for Nat'l Treasure when he was nine, and thought we'd all like it, so we went to see it. We all enjoyed it, in fact it's one of my son's favorite movies.

About Nat'l Treasure II-
from IMDb- Treasure hunter Benjamin Franklin Gates (Cage) looks to discover the truth behind the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, by uncovering the mystery within the 18 pages missing from assassin John Wilkes Booth's diary.

25. I was going, "You can buy a life-sized replica of the Declaration of Independence?"
I'm such a geek.

Sure, it wasn't exactly "Wuthering Heights", but I thought the puzzles were fun. And what they decided to do with the treasures at the end was rather inspiring (now that's the "Old America" thing to do).

Hope your S.O. gets the part!

28. Why thank you!
He had to do lines about the Booth diary, so I thought I had inside scoop, but evidently not!

It was a beatiful day down in Baltimore, and we sat outside and ate crabs across the street from the casting agency. So even if he doesn't get the part, we had a nice afternoon.
