Yep, age has caught up with my eyes and I'm getting sick of lifting my glasses when I need to read something, so bifocals it is. Plus an addition prescription for regular reading glasses.

Gee whiz, they're expensive too! :o I have all these older frames that are still in style and ordered new lens for those... $700+ :hurts:

1. Don't feel bad -- me, too! And thank god I've got a flexible spending account at the moment.
Two pairs of glasses and 4 boxes of contacts cost me $1k+.

2. have had bifocals for some time now....
Still look over the top of them or take them off to read.
Old habits are strong habits.

3. I do, too.
I'm going back to single vision lenses. It's too uncomfortable to have to keep my head tilted a certain way to read so I just take off the glasses and get comfy instead. Bi-focals are a lot more expensive and not really worth it.

Welcome to DU. :hi:

5. Be careful walking
The first few times you take a set of stairs with those suckers on could be disastrous. I seriously misjudge steps when I have my reading glasses on.
