11. Still healing
the secondary injury to my "good" arm is much slower in healing. I'll take a fracture over pulled tendons any day!

:)

I'm so glad you're building a clientele. You'll stir things up out there yet.

9. I'm good.
Good music also going here, although it's iPod's choice. Jimmy Buffett, Counting Crows, Shannon McNally of late. Something else in a minute or two.

Long week, lots of work. That's going to continue into the weekend. I don't like getting work pushing into personal time, but it's good money.

OK, that's a lie.

It's the result of a college experiment. I'm in the lower left.

I had nothing to do with it.

OK, that's a lie. The idea was primarily mine.

13. I'll refrain from posting the entire photo set.
My accomplice (on the right in the photo) and I wondered what would happen to a banana dropped into a rat trap.

Turns out, it's not that spectacular, mostly because the rat trap jumps all over the place.

So we strapped the rat trap to a cinder block.

But then the banana just gets pinched. Not very dramatic.

But what would happen to a big bag of goo?

So we collected a big bag filled with every liquid and gel we could gather from our floormates. Quite a mixture. All in a plastic bag.

Turns out, a rat trap just sort of snaps on the bag and holds it in place. Not that spectacular.

So we just put the bag on the floor and jumped on it. Big splat. Gathered 'round. Took a picture.

Her lick granulomas are almost all healed. (She will pick a spot on a leg and just lick it until it's a sore....dry skin I think)

She'll be getting a deep conditioning bath this weekend, and may be ready to go a while without the Elizabethan collar.

Sometimes she's her own worst enemy

She turns 15 this May. Tigger died when he was 13, appropriate for him. I think every year after about his fourth was complete bonus time. For him to leave when he was 13 just seemed to fit. Good luck, bad luck. He was going to make it memorable.

56. He was a troubled soul.
Runt of the litter, of a litter that shouldn't have survived anyway. (All of them abandoned by their mother in a Nebraska barn somewhere.)

By the time he was three, he had escaped the house only to be caught in the jaws of a neighbor's Rottweiler. While I was out searching the streets for him, my neighbor rescued him from being a doggie-dinner and tossed him through an open window back into my house.

Within a couple years of that, he had escaped through a skylight onto my roof during the night. Once I talked him down to the skylight. The other time I had to clamber up the roof to pull him back in.

When he was about 10, he got squirrelly on the stairs inside and dropped to the floor -- not enough time to get himself straightened out and ready for landing.

All that on top of multiple infections and other problems. I finally let him go when a feeding tube didn't bring him back from a feeding problem.

:-(

But he was a terrific cat, and he and Ben were my first pets as an adult. He'll always be to me what a cat should be.

Typical 19 year old...

They were driving down a well-lit road to the hotel after dark in blinding rain. The lights went out and their ears popped. Then the rain started going UP rather than down. They were right on the edge. Everything was getting sucked into the vortex.

:scared:

But I tell you, when I go down for my oldest nephew's college graduation and there's weather? I'm outta there to chase with J. :)

I remember taking a meteorology class in college, nearly ready to graduate and thinking, this is fun!

so maybe i'll become a meteorologist? or maybe i just need to take up storm chasing. I think it is a little easier near Tulsa since it is a little flatter there. Here the hills get in the way and you could easily drive right into something you didn't know was there.

5 tornadoes is an amazing thing to see in one trip! Most of the time I don't think chasers see them... but 5! I've seen 3, and not been chasing, just happened to see them.

Not at one time and over many years though.

You know they offer storm chasing vacations! Sign up and go chasing with professionals for a weekend or during the week I guess?

I'm lucky to have a semi-professional chaser in the family (he's sold video to CNN) and he only chases with a professional. They're extremely careful. Getting caught up in the edge of that rain-wrapped tornado just shows how very unpredictable and dangerous they are.

61. Wooo Hooo!
I was in your old stomping grounds last week. We took SPK kid to the OKC zoo, the Cowboy Hall of Fame, The Omniplex, to see the Murrah building memorial, and some other places around there.

Happy Birthday in advance!

:D

My grandfather (for whom am proud to say am named for!) was one of the founders of that place!

Am planning a trip to OKC sometime early June.

83. It's great to hear you're doing well, Nelly!

The Great Deadmonton Snow Melt-Off began last week. Most of it is gone now. :bounce:

With the exception of a nasty cold I woke up with yesterday morning, I'm doing well. I'm taking lots of vitamins and zinc and ginger tea, so here's hoping it'll be gone soon.

just hanging around the outer office a long few nights ago:
