I guess there is a place for jazz on the radio; the Ann Arbor, Michigan area. And for great NPR news too. It's a new record for us. Yay for WEMU! :woohoo:

I am very, VERY happy. And very, VERY tired. I worked 134 hours in two weeks...zzzzz

1. That's cool.
As a listener I hate when stations do pledge drives--just play the damned music!--but I do of course know how important they are to public radio stations.

Congratulations. :toast:

2. Thanks!
We think two weeks of fundraising beats 10 minutes of commercials every hour, every day, 365 days a year....don't you? :hi:

3. Probably.
But it doesn't seem that way during those two weeks. :D

4. right on
ANYTHING's better than commercials. They're why I can't watch regular tv anymore or listen to anything but NPR. Far as I'm concerned someone needs to pay ME for sitting through ten minutes of that crap every hour x( from here on I'm happy to deal with pledge drives- they used to annoy me but now I'm just glad when my station has a good one.
I used to try to help take calls but I Failed at that so now I help with the membership mailings.
I'm glad your station's drive went so well!!

5. Thanks, stuntcat!
I try to make my pledge drives entertaining; for instance yesterday I had a boogie-woogie piano player playing live for 12 hours with various local musicians stopping in to jam with him. It was a blast!
