April Fool's Day ~ 2007

It has been said that "you can take the girl out of the country but you can't take the country out of the girl".
I'm starting April off by proving that, yesterday I traded my 2006 P T Cruiser in on a 2005 Ford Sport Trac.


For many years I have tried to start 4/1 at the beach ~ any beach will do. Today I ended 4/1 with the sun set at my back as I gazed off across the horizon of the Atlantic Coast of Deerfield Beach. Next year I'll be living on the Gulf Of Mexico.

6. I had a calm 4/1.

I did some light housework.

I was supposed to spend the weekend with my friend Jen. Her kids are away for the weekend with their Grandfather and Jen wanted some grown-up time. But her MS and my chronic pain both acted up and cancelled those plans. So we both stayed home.

It could have been far worse. It could have been better too. It was an 'okay' weekend.

BTW South Florida is having a drought. Folks can only water their lawn and wash their cars on odd or even days from 4 to 8AM.

It's been an interesting winter. I love being where it's warm but I've become a country girl at heart. The locals tell me that if I can just hold on until after Easter the SnowBirds will migrate home and we'll have a bit more breathing room. I'd like to see that. It's soooo bad that there was a local web poll asking if folks around here wait until Spring to get out and enjoy Florida. :shrug: I give up! My trike has been under covers for the past month.

Last week I drove over to Naples and also north to Melborn last week looking for my next home. I certainly cannot stay here but it's a good base while I'm looking.

I was waiting for high speed via Bell South but it looks like I'm going to have to see if Comcast can run a line in here. The dial-up speed has been running between 8 all of the way to 40 Kbps :banghead: !!! I truly feel handicapped by slow speed and I Miss My Printer!

19. I was involved in a pretty good prank.

My friend posted on her online journal that she's pregnant, and then when people started asking what her boyfriend had to say, I piped in and pretended it was me who got her pregnant, haha. We had a few people really going for a little while.
