I am getting a new pc with some the following specs, built by HP:
120 gigs hard drive (and will network or slave the current 90 gigs from the current pc as a storage bin for video captures)
1GB DDR/PC2700 (2 DIMM)
AMD Athlon XP 3000 operating at 2.1GHz
Integrated ProSavageDDR KM266 graphics
16X max dvd-rom drive
8Xdvd-rw/+r drive dvd writer and cd writer combo
MS XP Home Edition and MS Office Basic
I will be cannibalizing from the old pc the ATI All-In-Wonder 9000 Radeon video card and Creative Audigy sound cards …(might upgrade to ATI/ Radeon 9600 or 9800 Pro).
Probably, I will be using Pinnacle’s Studio 8 software for ATI (I make small clips for my consulting customers to use for their corporate propaganda films)
I can easily capture the stuff the ATI normally allows and which I do currently, viz., TV, auxiliaries (camcorder), but also I want to capture streaming videos from the Net.
I have seen software called WM Recorder that allows for capture of streaming WM files, but is there software out there that allows capture for the other Internet streaming video formats, such as RM, QuickTime, or others?
Also I noticed something called HyperCam at
http://www.hyperionics.com/ but it doesn’t seem to be true capturing software.
Anybody got ideas?
