Ever associate an avatar with a DUer so much...

That when you see that avatar, you think, "Hey! That's ___________, I think I'll say Hi!" (or flame them, lol), then you look at up at the name to see someone else and say, "Oh. Oops. Never mind."

Do you feel that slightly disoriented feeling, like you get when you are expecting milk in your breakfast glass, and it ends up being orange juice?

IMHO, either we should be allowed to choose individualized avatars or dump them completely at DU! Based on my previous experiences in other forums, the most effective use of an avatar is to draw more attention to the poster's user-name. If an individual is an effective poster, campaign avatars or pictures of the candidate they support become increasingly redundant.

I moved to Hixson, outside of Chattanooga, before I was even 2 years old. My Dad is a native of Clarksville, and my kin goes back in TN over 200 years - my late Grandad had the genealogy done.

So I won't cop your state avatar, but I sure like to see some TN Democrats on here. My grandmother still lives in TN, and she loathes Bush with a passion. She voted for Gore, and will vote Dem again this November, when she will be 86 years old. :-)
