Poll question: Which TV comedy do you find yourself quoting the most often?
Edited on Tue Apr-10-07 11:44 AM by Bicoastal
Man, it was hard narrowing this down to just 9 slots...feel free to bonk me on the head if you feel I've left something big out...

1. You're missing The Office.
But I definitely quote the Simpsons the most.

3. It was a deliberate decision...
Edited on Tue Apr-10-07 11:46 AM by Bicoastal
...not to include any non-animated sitcoms.

That's for a different poll altogether.

ON EDIT: I decided to make an exception for Seinfeld, which is too quotable not to be on the list. It's also not your average sitcom....

2. around my house, its Seinfeld.
but outside the home, its Monty Python all the way.

(my wife doesnt get Python humor, so quoting it at home is pointless)

18. "Deadwood" full of great profane observations on life.
mostly from the aptly named Al Swearengen.

"Pain or damage don’t end the world. Or despair or fucking beatings. The world ends when you’re dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man and give some back."

"In life you have to do a lot of things you don't fucking want to do. Many times, that's what the fuck life is... one vile fucking task after another."

10. Monty Python
I have found in my life that virtually any statement or question can be replied to with either a Monty Python quote or a Pink Floyd lyric.

20. Seinfeld or
Arrested Development. Although almost no one gets AD refrences.

Another show I like to quote that isn't a comedy, and also that no one gets is Veronica Mars.

Anytime someone asks me what I'm doing the first thing I think to say is "Remembering why I'm a misanthrope." Unfortunately none of my friends have seen the show, and probably don't know what a misanthrope is so the humor is lost on them. Although that is a pretty accurate statement of what I'm doing anytime I'm in public.

Dan: Ah man, we're screwed.
Roseanne: No Dan. We are so far beyond screwed that the light from screwed will take 1 billion years to reach the earth.

But yeah, I love when I see episodes I never saw before. I thought I saw them all but the other day I saw one I've never seen.

It's when Roseanne and Jackie go on a road trip with little Jerry and they talk shit to this trucker and then the trucker gets in an accident and they are almost caught by the police.
