What are you listening to this weekend?
Edited on Sat Apr-14-07 09:50 PM by mvd
I've listed to:

Brandi Carlile - The Story (Very highly recommended! Can't get more beautiful than this. I like the mood-shifting rock guitar she's added)

Avril's The Best Damn Thing at MuchMusic.com (If you are a fan like me, you should definitely pick it up when it comes out next week! "Girlfriend" is catchy, but a little childish. Also, it wasn't really needed when there's a superior chanting song - the title track. "Runaway" pleasantly reminds me of her Let Go days. "I Can Do Better" propels marvelously. "Innocence" and "When You're Gone" show maturity in her songwriting. "Everybody Back But You" reminds me of early Blink 182, which is a compliment. The crunchy "Hot" is another highlight. I could do without the snooty "I Don't Have To Try," and while "Keep Holding On" sounds better at the end of an album, it still seems a bit like a filler choice for last song. "Contagious" has a nifty soft rock riff. While I wouldn't give this CD As like Let Go and Under My Skin, it still gets a very good B+!)

Finally, songs from Kate Voegele that are on her MySpace - wonderful stuff! Michelle Branch and Susan Cagle-like pop/rock mastery! I'll be buying her CD, which is out May 22.

30. Miles is definitely an acquired taste. While I appreciate his
abilities, I don't care for his music. I've really tried to listen to him and like him, but his style does nothing for me.

So far, it's quite good. Not the greatest cd in the world, but it's good.

Edited on Sat Apr-14-07 09:58 PM by NightWatcher
it's Tom Morello, former guitarist from Rage Against the Machine.
He has a very low mellow tone, but sings very powerful protest music. His cd doesnt come out for a couple of weeks, so I'm having to catch it from his myspace page and website.

Here's a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZnuGbCxN0o
Here's the myspace address.

he had his pick of all the basses. He's had it since he was a teenager. Found it in a pawn shop on a lucky day and bought it just as someone was coming in for it.
