I saw Al Franken this afternoon!
I was on the 86th Street crosstown at Amsterdam, waiting for the light to change and there he was near the bus stop. If I had been near an openable window, I'd have said something to him (he was only 2-3 feet away). He was sipping a cup of diner coffee; no Starbucks for him. One of the nice things aout NYC; you never know who might turn up.

3. He didn't happen to have either of those on his shirt
it was just a blue plaid. If I had been able been able to say something, I would have told him I enjoyed his book. If he had responded by giving me his opinion of matters Israeli, I would have thought he was a jerk, just like.....hmmmmmm.
