1. LOL - I remember typing with one hand, holding a cigarette in the other.
Those were the good old days, when a pack of Marlboro reds cost a quarter. March of 1978 when they banned smoking in my building is when I quit--I didn't enjoy being relegated to wind tunnel that they deemed an appropriate smoking area. :eyes:

2. the last office i was able to smoke in was in chicago
in 2000 - early 2001.

4. In the mid 80's I was working in an office with ashtrays.
Most of us smoked and didn't think anything about it until a client would come in and throw a fit about smelling smoke. Even then (knowing smoking was a problem) we were all kind of offended that anybody would actually SAY anything negative about the office policy.

Literally, when I quit smoking while working there I put my cigarettes in the boss's office. I knew that if I wanted a smoke I had to go in there and get one--it REALLY helped me quit because he was an absolute turd.
