Does anyone want to talk about The Sopranos last night? SPOILER ALERT!
One overall theme seemed to be that no one wants to be the Boss anymore. That came up with Phil Leotardo, Little Carmine, even Johnny Sac on his deathbed complained that being the Boss was an awful job. I think that Tony had been grooming Christopher to be the Boss after Tony, but now Chris seems more interested in making movies, and seems to be insulting toward Tony as well. I think Tony is the only one able/willing to be the Boss anymore.

Where do you think they're going with this? Tony believes that Chris despises him, Chris knows that Tony will never let him leave the group, I think we're headed to a showdown between Tony and Chris. And isn't Carmela getting close to figuring out what happened to Ade???

1. Also, since Tony is one of the few who still wants to be the Boss, do you
think he'll get to step in and take over Little Carmine's group in Brooklyn? Their guy (Santoro?) who had his rival whacked in front of Silvio acted out of turn, and may have to be eliminated. Could this leave Brooklyn open to Tony? That would be interesting.

2. New York still thinks of New Jersey as a
glorified crew. I don't think there is any way that Tony will be able to take the reigns of the NY family. I think Phil Leotardo is going to step up the way he was talking at the end of Billy's birthday celebration. Phil still has a major beef over his brother being killed with the Soprano family, and I think the spirit of vengeance will cause him to be the NY boss.

I don't know what is going to happen with Christopher and Tony. Chrissy thinks he's going to hell for Tony. If Melfi were smart though, she would have told Tony that the movie was an outlet for Christopher to express his feelings. As a piece of art on screen Christopher gets to have his feelings acted out visually and can see the result - the boss getting killed with the cleaver. It will have satisfied his psychological need to put this issue to rest in order to concentrate on business. But, then again, Tony is completely cynical about people and their subconscious actions, so he may not.

I was completely shocked at how quickly Johnny Sac died. I really thought that the natural death talked about before the season would have been Junior.

The previews for next week look awesome! What body did they find? Who whacked the body they found? Something tells me that Paulie may be in trouble. There was some camera work in last night's episode that make me think that.

4. Do you think Phil will finally get the revenge he wants for the death
of his brother by whacking christopher?

5. You made me think about this for a while.
I think that if Phil becomes boss of New York and Tony doesn't get a handle on the Christopher thing, Tony might actually hand Christopher over to Phil as sort of a trade for Tony B. There was something weird in the way Tony and Chrissy hugged at the christening.

I love speculating. I'm never right, but I come up with some interesting scenarios.

6. It never occured to me that Tony would hand him over
but it does make sense. I agree with you on the hug at the end. It was weird.

3. Oh crap!
I don't think I recorded it. We got a new HD/DVR and I don't remember if I programed it in.

7. The first two eps show Tony upset with Christophuh. They also showed
Tony thinking of handing over the reins to Bobby, but after that fight I don't see it.

My guess is that Tony whacks them both and then eventually gets whacked by someone we've never seen before (a street thug, for instance), leaving Paulie in charge. Gandolfini said that he wouldn't play in a Sopranos movie, so Tony has to go.

Carmela knows what happened to Ade. Maybe not who killed her or under what circumstances, but Carmela has a general idea. That conversation with Christophuh was a fishing expedition.
