Losing My Religion

Somehow this just seems appropriate for me today, anyone else?

edit: I love the MANDOLIN! :woohoo:

Losing my Religion- REM

Life is bigger
Its bigger than you
And you are not me
The lengths that I will go to
The distance in your eyes
Oh no Ive said too much
I set it up

Thats me in the corner
Thats me in the spotlight
Losing my religion
Trying to keep up with you
And I dont know if I can do it
Oh no Ive said too much
I havent said enough
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try

Every whisper
Of every waking hour im
Choosing my confessions
Trying to keep an eye on you
Like a hurt lost and blinded fool
Oh no Ive said too much
I set it up

Consider this
The hint of the century
Consider this
The slip that brought me
To my knees failed
What if all these fantasies
Come flailing around
Now Ive said too much
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try

But that was just a dream
That was just a dream

1. thanks for the tune-age
Funny story, I one time almost hit Mike Mills with my car in downtown Athens outside of the 40 watt club.

Too lazy to check but I'm pretty sure he's responsible for the mandolin on that track

5. That's really a fantastic song. So many ways it can be interpreted. I true work of art, IMO
I've spent the last 20 minutes trying to find out what Stipe was thinking when he wrote it. It seems that no one is really sure but several expalnations seem plausible.Any way, thanks for sharing SPK!. Here's a version you may not have heard:

6. where was that filmed?
is that spain? somewhere on the iberian peninsula i'm thinking?

the only interpretation i've ever had of this song is unreciprocated love but i don't think the power of the song relies on its meaning

7. Yes it was in Spain, In Santiago de Compostela according to their website.
They do a nice version of Stairway to Heaven and Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme too. Just search for Masters of Chant on You Tube. I found them when I was looking for Smells like Teen Spirit (which they also do).

9. I love that song
Sigh. So beautiful.

I've heard people say that Everybody Hurts is depressing, but I always found it a comfort when I was sad.
